Located just off the Hume Freeway, two and a half hours from Melbourne, Mokoan Homestead is directly opposite the incredible Winton Wetlands. This area is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest restoration project, rehabilitating 8750 hectares into a thriving ecosystem. It's a paradise for nature lovers, enhancing biodiversity for over 200 bird species and offering fantastic nature-based tourism. Explore walking and cycling trails, marvel at indigenous art, or join local astronomy groups at the observation pad to take in the stars. For motor enthusiasts, Winton Raceway is only 20 kms away, while water sports lovers will find Yarrawonga and Nillahcootie Lakes just 50 kms from our door. Don't forget a visit to Baileys of Glenrowan winery, a mere 12 kms away, or the Milawa Cheese Factory. While we don't have a shop, our guests enjoy cooking their own meals or visiting nearby towns for hotels, restaurants, or winery dinners. There's always something to see and do!
